Dr. Rajan Mahtani Invited To Fin Roundtable Conference

With the pandemic receding and businesses slowly coming back to normal, several events took place in Africa. One of these events was Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ award ceremony. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, one of the most famous, noted, and respected businessperson and philanthropist from Zambia, was conferred with one of the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards for his contributions towards redefining the banking sector of Zambia. The Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ award ceremony was hosted by the Forbes-FIN philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference. This conference is usually held in New York, United States. However, this year’s roundtable conference was held online as a result of the ongoing covid-19 pandemic and members participated in the event virtually, from their respective locations.

Members of the Forbes business connect (FBC) conferred Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani with the Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year’ award 2021. The Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards is one of the most anticipated and regarded corporate and philanthropy awards in Africa. The awards are given to leading lights in the field of philanthropy. The awards hold high value and global recognition as they are presented by Forbes itself. Also, the process of selecting the recipients is extremely rigorous and transparent, comprising of months of the verification process and background checks followed by interviews and discussions with the recipients to understand their perception towards philanthropy as a means to achieve long-term empowerment of the Zambian nation. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani accepted the award in a graceful and humble manner. He thanked Almighty God for giving him immense support and strength, especially during the difficult times. He also thanked his team for their support and performance that helped him achieve success in his businesses.

Dr. Rajan Mahtani was recognised for his several philanthropic and charitable achievements over the years. He is the owner of top companies such as Mahtani Group and Finsbury Investments. He is also known for his philanthropic achievements such as Prison Fellowship Zambia and Stephen Malama award and scholarship for top law graduates in Zambia.
