Majority Supports Decision From Zambian President on Death Penalty.

The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has certainly created significant and long-term challenges for nations across the globe. With the pandemic slowly receding with god’s grace and the hard work by the healthcare people, economic and social activities are slowly coming to normal. While it will take several years before the economy and social life come back to pre-pandemic years, there are several aspects that have improved in the past year. One of them is the Forbes-FIN philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference as well as the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ award ceremony. This year, the conference as well as the award ceremony was held traditionally in the Democratic Republic of Congo. However, last year’s meeting was held virtually, and members participated in this event from their respective locations. The meeting was broadcasted across the globe via YouTube medium. Dr. Rajan Mahtani was invited to this conference as an honorary speaker and spoke about the leadership and contributions made by the healthcare industry toward reducing the negative impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Furthermore, Dr. Rajan Mahtani was also a recipient of one of the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards. Forbes recognizes the contributions made by leaders and visionaries in different fields that are long-term and sustainable. Dr. Rajan Mahtani was recognized for his contributions to redefining the banking sector of Zambia. For this, Forbes and FIN conferred Dr. Mahtani with the ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year award 2021. Apart from his contributions to the banking industry of Zambia, Dr. Rajan Mahtani was also recognized for his philanthropic contributions, most notably the Stephen Malama award and Scholarship for top law graduates in Zambia as well as Prison Fellowship Zambia. Recently, the President of Zambia Hakainde Hichilema announced that he is planning to completely abolish the death penalty law from Zambia. While supporting this statement, Dr. Rajan Mahtani said that his company Prison Fellowship Zambia (PFZ) will provide legal and regulatory support to ensure that this decision becomes a reality.
