Portland Cement Claim By The Ventriglias Discarded By SC

Dr. Rajan Mahtani, for a long time, has been fighting for the legal takeover of a factory which actually belongs to him. The final decision from the Supreme Court Zambia, the highest legal authority of the nation, further exposed the several attempts made by the notorious Italian family to deprive Dr. Mahtani owned Finsbury Investments of the 58 percent majority shares it owns at the Portland Cement Zambia company.

The first attempt was made by unethically taking over the Portland Cement Zambia factory with the help if goons. Even though Dr. Mahtani registered a claim at the Lusaka High Court, he did not get justice despite more than a decade of case proceedings. After Lusaka High Court judge announced Ventriglias as the only shareholders of the Portland Cement, Dr. Mahtani approached the higher Court of Appeal. Justice Mwinde on behalf of the higher Court of Appeal reversed the decision from the Lusaka High Court and announced that Dr. Rajan Mahtani is indeed the majority shareholder and legal owner of the Portland Cement factory.

After more than a year of this firm and transparent decision, the Ventriglia family once again established a bizarre claim at the Supreme Court Zambia in which they questioned the higher Court of Appeal’s decision. However, a bench of three SC judges came to the conclusion that the Ventriglia family failed to comply with legal requirement in which all appeals against previous court decisions are to be submitted within 14 days. Since the family failed to comply with this requirement, their appeal was rejected by the Supreme Court Zambia.
